It’s less than a month until the November 3 election. Has your PTA held a voter registration drive, a candidate forum or a student event?
If your PTA unit or council will hold or has completed one of those activities, as described below, enter our 6th District drawing to win a free registration to the California State PTA Legislation Conference.
LegCon2027 takes place February 1-2 in Sacramento. PTA Advocates from throughout California gather to learn, connect, and take action on behalf of children, youth, and families. For more details and information, please visit California State PTA LegCon 2027.
To be entered into the drawing for a free LegCon2027 registration**, complete the appropriate Qualifying Election Activity listed below and then submit your entry here. Entries must be received by October 30.
Qualifying Activities
Open to all PTA Units and Councils: Hold a voter registration drive or candidate forum before the October 19 voter registration deadline. For guidelines and ideas, see the CAPTA website.
Open to Middle and High School PTAs: Did your school participate in California’s Student Mock Election held on October 6? Details here.
Open to High School PTAs: Pre-register 16 and 17 year olds to vote. Has your high school held a student voter registration event or do you plan to do so in October? The Civics Center, a California State PTA partner, makes student voter registration easier with free training and much more to get you started. Or go here.
Drawing to be held October 31, 2026.
** The prize is the registration fee only and does not cover lodging or other expenses.
Election Day is just weeks away – Election Day is Tuesday, November 3rd. Please plan ahead, and don’t forget to vote!
BALLOT MEASURES: There are 14 propositions (statewide ballot measures), so don’t wait until the last minute to learn about them.
PTA does not support or oppose candidates, but it does take positions on some ballot measures. More Info

LEARN about candidates:
PTA does not support or oppose candidates or parties. PTA, League of Women Voters, local newspapers, etc., host candidate forums. Many such events are recorded and can then be watched online.
REGISTER to vote:
At your county’s Registrar of Voters website (Santa Clara County, all counties), check your registration or register online. 16- and 17-year-olds can “preregister,” and can then vote as soon as they turn 18. The deadline for online registration is Monday, October 19th, but you can also use same-day registration if you vote in person on Election Day.
BE CAREFUL of other “voter registration” websites. Some seem to be designed to collect, and perhaps sell, your personal information.

Units and Councils in Sixth District that conduct Voting activities for students and/or members can qualify for a drawing to get a free registration to California State PTA's February Legislation Conference.
